You see, we’re traveling on a Schengen visa after all and so . . . we’re in Italy instead.
No worries, our plans to live in Spain are still intact, however, we won’t be there as long as we had hoped. Again, no worries. We are in ITALY after all!
After a lengthy but otherwise entertaining flight to, and an equally lengthy layover in, Frankfurt, Germany, we boarded a Lufthansa flight bound for Naples, Italy, where we slept for the first time in what seemed like two days. I had booked a night at the Palazzo Caracciolo in the Centro Storico through www.booking.com. Given the level of graffiti and debris strewn about the streets of Naples, I was a little concerned as to the level of cleanliness. We were not disappointed. Extremely clean, bright and comfy rooms (yes, the max number of guests in each is 2) and bathrooms, and a very pleasant and welcoming staff ensure our return. Below are photos of the hotel’s courtyard from a couple of vantage points.
Next, on to the Amalfi Coast! Ciao!
